The original article addresses that:nn"(Kinimond) doesn't think that people will begin to park illegally in order to get a free oil and air service. 'We can recognize the same bicycles that are parked illegally several days in a row. They don't get oil or air.'"

If the bicyclists were rational, wouldn't they always park their bikes illegally to get the free bike service? Every time they had a tire with low air pressure they should just drop their bike off in the middle of the road. That way they get the air and as a bonus their bike chain will get oiled.

The big letter definitely makes it easier to understand. And maybe easier to compare between two models in the dealership (in the case they have a different letter). nIt reminds me a lot of http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/European_Union_energy_label which I find a pretty good system.

The article only quotes brand managers, not customers. But 1,355 entries for self-designed chiquita stickers seems like a good indication of emotion.nnThe comparison to Shrek onions is interesting, but major movie tie-in campaigns are expensive. Who knows which one is more cost-effective?

The people who used the words emotional are the Chiquita brand managers not customers (not to mention the phrase most often used by brand managers, "resonated with customers"). Don't most stores carry just one brand of Banana - Chiquita or Dole? I doubt this is just another effort to join the social media bandwagon.nEven if we give that there is ROI on this effort, is it better than alternatives that are already available? For example Vidalia onions co-branded with Shrek movie and stores could not keep bags of onions on their shelves. Children were clamoring for Shrek onions.nI doubt that the sticker approach delivers incremental benefit over traditional methods like movie tie-ins.nnAfter all, if people really love the stickers they can peel it off from the bananas, they don't have to buy the banana. n-rags

The home owner's experience can have a huge impact, maximizing the efficiency gains of whatever smart grid infrastructure is deployed. Nudges that are contextual (http://bit.ly/9z0usX) can be a good complement to general awareness devices like that orb. It's also important to target more people than those who are already motivated to lower their usage, like the people who would buy the orb(http://bit.ly/bhlbRZ).

Decision-making is such a complex and fascinating process. So rarely is there any conscious regulation of which factors you're considering. It's a great question, how much do real estate agents consider this, and what would it look like if they did?

The original article addresses that:nn"(Kinimond) doesn't think that people will begin to park illegally in order to get a free oil and air service. 'We can recognize the same bicycles that are parked illegally several days in a row. They don't get oil or air.'"

The big letter definitely makes it easier to understand. And maybe easier to compare between two models in the dealership (in the case they have a different letter). nIt reminds me a lot of http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/European_Union_energy_label which I find a pretty good system.

If the bicyclists were rational, wouldn't they always park their bikes illegally to get the free bike service? Every time they had a tire with low air pressure they should just drop their bike off in the middle of the road. That way they get the air and as a bonus their bike chain will get oiled.

The big letter definitely makes it easier to understand. And maybe easier to compare between two models in the dealership (in the case they have a different letter). nIt reminds me a lot of http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/European_Union_energy_label which I find a pretty good system.

Children were clamoring for Shrek onions.nI doubt that the sticker approach delivers incremental benefit over traditional methods like movie tie-ins.nnAfter all, if people really love the stickers they can peel it off from the bananas, they don't have to buy the banana. n-rags

Hi! I've read the book and love both it and the blog. Would you be able to consider the application of these methods to the arts? I love the new manner of thinking but am not as talented as approaching alternative topics in the manner that you all are. Please give it some thought.
